Is anyone else playing around with Google Wave? I only know a few friends who are in there, so I haven't been able to play around with it that much. I want to start a larger Wave with colleagues to see what we all think about it and how we're using it. If you're in Wave and interested, let me know!

I believe you need an invitation. So far they have not extended one to me, but if you can invite people...well, you probably have at least 1-2,000 people here interested.

Yes, you do need an invitation. I just got mine over the weekend from a friend, and I don't see that I have any to give away yet. Apparently Google is making room for more invites to go out and I'll get some whenever they get them out. I have no idea how many I'd get, but I'll keep you posted.

I have noticed that the larger the Wave the slower it goes. I'm in a large wave for the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area and when I try to edit it it goes slowly. I suppose it's not designed to have that large of a group, and honestly I'd never use something like a Wave to organize or collaborate on something with that large a group, but we're all in there just trying to play around with it, so I suppose it's serving its purpose. And, I suppose this is a "preview" and they want us to use it and report bugs, so I suppose I should report the slowness when lots of us are in there.

It certainly looks fun. And probably a very real way to speed up some work processes that now need scores of meetings and minutes and addendums. But some libraries would certainly need to break up frozen structures to use it externally (or even just for internal discussions :-)

I would be interested in exploring google wave, the video of the unveiling was very interesting. If anyone can send an invite, I would appreciate it.
