Hi all, I hope you don't mind me posting the following.
---
The Oklahoma ACRL subgroup, the Community of Oklahoma Instruction Librarians (COIL), will be having an “unCOILed” workshop this summer.
Think of unCOILed as the usual, quality COIL summer workshop mixed with an unconference like approach.
The workshop's topic will be incorporating participatory learning in library instruction sessions and teaching.
How are we defining “participatory learning”?
Participatory learning is anything that engages your students in both your physical and distance ed classrooms. We’re looking at ways in which you teach and draw in-- not merely lecturing-- students through incorporating games, virtual worlds, blogs, cell phones, etc. to bring all your students to your common learning goal.
unCOILed is scheduled for Friday, July 17th from 9am to 3:30pm at NSU’s Muskogee campus at 2400 W. Shawnee in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
The registration fee is $15. A light breakfast and afternoon snacks will be included. Lunch will not be included in the registration fee.
Please visit

Once you have registered for the workshop, we will send you a confirmation email that will also invite you, the attendee, to help direct workshop content via a social network on Ning. Feel free to post questions, comments, etc. for presenters in the presentation description forum so that the presenters can present on what you want to know about their topics on Friday, July 17th!
