- I'm a public librarian who sings bass in a women's barbershop chorus in southeastern Wisconsin. I can't say that the librarian part is just a job -- I love what I do! I'm a consultant in youth services and special needs for two public library systems and I work with librarians at 42 libraries. I'm also active in several professional organizations (Wisconsin Library Assocation, PLA, ALA, ALSC, and ASCLA). Suffice it to say that if a committee is looking for a member or someone to volunteer to run for a position, I'm the one who can't say no!
Similarly, like my job in libraryland isn't WORK, being a Sweet Adeline isn't just a HOBBY! (No matter what I try to tell myself.....) I sing bass with the Riverport Chorus. This fall, the chorus will travel to Calgary, Alberta for international competition. This will be my fifth time on the international stage! I'm working up the nerve (and face it, looking for the time) to start quarteting again.
I'm also the very proud mom of Bethany Margaret!

You should see all the May Flies. They're everywhere, especially at dusk. You can't open your mouth or you might eat some of them! The weather turned out more beautiful today than they predicted. On the whole, it's been a good week. Tomorrow I'll be shopping in Rhinelander. Saturday is an arts and craft show in Minocqua. Sunday is the long trip hope!
