Dear Georgia Katsarou Well, KOHA ILS is being run in your library. Would you let me know about Reporting in KOHA. Is it easily manageable to make print out of a required report in KOHA or not? I've attended a workshop on KOHA ILS at Islamabad, Pa...

Name of Your Library:
Webster University Vienna
About Me:
I got the job because I love books. I'm learning about stuff like MARC and all that as I go, which is making my head pop. I shoulda got an MLS. Me talk pretty some day. I was born in New Jersey, lived all over the USA, loved living in NYC for 10 years, couldn't get a job at NYPL (don't know why not) and I live in Vienna, Austria now.. Which is weird, but has nothing to do with Library 2.0. Unless they start burning books again.

What is Your Interest in Library 2.0 (not yes or no)
My library doesn't have integrated software. It doesn't have an OPAC. We have a profile on LibraryThing and we trade books on Bookmooch. We're migrating to Mandarin Oasis. I think the future will see something like LibraryThing with circulation management built in to the website. Students here are from both sides of the digital divide.

Me on LibraryThing

So I put the library I work for on LibraryThing, and I'm on there too. I also put the school's library on bookmooch, and I'm finding it's very easy to give away books that were donated but aren't right for us. The hard part is finding books that we'd like on there. Then when I do, they're in the USA and all the bookmoochers are too broke to mail them to Austria. sigh.

Benjamin -

Thanks for the invite. There's only four of us in our library, so I look forward to exchanging ideas on how to utilize these 2.0 tools in a smaller library setting. Be well.

I loved visiting the coal mine exhibit when I was a kid. Haven't been over there in years.

Hi Benjamin,

They have rebuilt the Library at Alexandria. You can google it more info.

Indeed it does appear that during the Ptolemaic era, races were initially separate. The indigenous Egyptians had their section, as did the jews. The greeks were, of course, the ruling class. During Roman occupation, I think the races blended a bit. But separation was based more on religion, if it occurred at all.

Alexandria in the 3rd and 4th centuries was very cosmopolitan that earlier. Then the christian church came along and the divisions along religious lines were greatly sharpened as the church consolidated its power, as the empire was breaking up. Much of that I putinto the blog.

Hope you enjoy the blog.
