I'm a reference librarian, and am heavily involved with AskColorado, the statewide virtual reference service in Colorado. Oh, and I also do inhouse technology training.
Hi Susie,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.
Hi, Susie!
That is great! Since we can make our own
network and keep it private, this site might work well for Ask Colorado. We could link our current blog to it. Plus be able to have a discussion (different blog) on the site. This site has a lot of possibilities. Now I am really getting excited about it.
Yes, this site is not very private. That could be a problem for our intranet. We need to see if there is any way to make it private without having to pay for it. I have been having fun exploring it, too.
I think that it would be good to use Ning instead of MySpace. The schools are all blocking MySpace, so the students can't see any of the great things on DPL's myspace page.
This could be very interesting. I wonder if our DPL customers would use one set up for just them? Something to think about - would be very cool if we could incorporate it seamlessly somehow.
Hi Sharon, I'm just fooling around with it. Michelle sent me an invitation, and I thought I'd explore. But you're right this would be useful for the AskColorado intranet page.

Are you checking out Ning to use for other things like AskColorado? I think it might work well for that purpose.
