Part of building interest is by story telling, giving examples of how others are using these tools, showing them how they can use them too. I think that accounts for the strong support of learning 2.0. Plus there has to be a 'what's in it for me' ...

Let me introduce myself

Hi. I'm back. When I was last here, I was an adult services librarian at the Ypsilanti District Library. Now I am Director of the Garden City Public Library. We have a lot of challenges here at GCPL, but I feel we are making improvements and moving in the right direction.

Hi James,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

I am very happy to have found this group. I was the Automation Librarian in north San Diego County until 5 years ago. After moving to Arizona and working as an elementary school librarian for a few years I find that I seriously need to catch up on 2.0 issues and applications. I am looking forward to participating and learning in this group.
Thanks,
Rosemary Tarenskeen

James -
Good to see more midwestern public librarians working on 2.0 issues. I share your concerns wtih finding ways for more people on a library's staff to get involved.

Thanks for the invite, James. I look forward to public library (as opposed to academic) based discussion of Library 2.0.

Thank Jim -- so much discussion seems to be focused on academic community this will be a nice change. A lot of the essentials behind 2.0 theory is second nature to many librarians but it will be exciting to heat what others are doing.
