I recently retired from 35 years of work in academic libraries. I received my MLS from Emporia State University in 1969. My first job was at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. From there I moved to Kansas State University, and then to the University of Kentucky where I stayed for 12 years until I became library director at Minot State University in North Dakota, serving in that capacity for 21 years. I decided to take early retirement in December 2005 to spend my remaining years learning how to write historical fiction. I live in Alamosa, Colorado, located in the San Luis Valley, with my wife Judy, an active artist , who also helps with editing all my writing. Our only pets are the wild deer, young and old, that eat and nap in our front and back yards. The picture is of my alter ego Yarrl of Alexandria. You can read about the story of Yarrl at http://alexandrinelibrarian.blogspot.com

Hi Larry thanks for the invite. you sent it back in July and i must admit that i have only just looked at this email last week. i created this profile when i was first starting to learn 2.0 technologies and then discovered that where i work this site is blocked by our IT department and so i haven't looked at it in a while. Looking forward to chating more.
Thanks for the invirtation. (If someone can friend you, why not be invirted?) I'm a mid-westerner, transplanted to the east coast for so long, I might has well been born here (though I've never acquired that strange South Boston accent).
Love the profile pic, Larry. That monk looks how I feel after a week of dealing with students in the library here at the University of Kent. Thanks for adding me, BTW, I'm glad to have you on my friends list - good to meet you.
Larry, thanks for the invite. You and I have hovered around the same area of the country. Born in NE Oklahoma, lived in Durango, CO for awhile, went library school at the University of Iowa.
Thanks for the friend invite! I got my B.A. at University of MN at Moorhead, and my roommate was from Bismarck. You must have liked your time in Minot since you were there for so long. Hope to hear more from you!
