Name of Your Library:
Örebro County Library,Örebro, Sweden
About Me:
I am the director of Örebro County Library. In Sweden the County Library is obviously the regional level of the library superstructure. I.e. we don't manage any collections, we are focused on further education for local library staff, business intelligence, analysis and whatever.

What is Your Interest in Library 2.0 (not yes or no)
The big thing for med about the 2.0-movement is interactivity. Or putting back trust to the users. We, the experts in searching and finding, can't search and find everything for everyone all the time. But we can educate as well as we also can learn from our users. We must find ways to work together with our users. If we don't invite them to the Library Planet they will go elsewhere for service. We must also accept the fact that we should be guests and visit their homeplanets. Library 2.0 must not be reduced to a webb thing: there ought to be a 2.0-movement including the librarys physical surroundings as well as over all management. So, how do you meet your patrons? In a 2.0 style or in the Basil Fawlty-style? ("This would be a great library only if the patrons didn't interrupt us all the time with their petty questions") How do you work with your collections? In a 2.0-way including focus groups and interactivity or is it business as usual? Etc etc.

By Måns Svensson and Stefan Larsson

The study empirically examined, or rather examined the lack of, social norms opposing illegal file sharing. A total of over 1,000 respondents have answered the questionnaire. Along with the social nor… Continue

Check out Swedish bibl feed

Friend and collegue Ake Nygren created a great community if your interested in what's up on the Swedish library scene using the Ning tool. The community is called bibl feed and collects rss-feeds from the Swedish biblioblogosphere.
And yes, there is a group for english speaking librarians, too.

Welcome to check it out!

Thanks for the invitation, Peter. And thanks for that link to the dissertation on creativity. I look forward to reading it if it becomes available in English.

Hello! Sometimes things move on, backwards, the otherway around, upside down and unexspectedly forward. As a lizard on a hot rock or as a turtle on the beach. Peter moves like that, in different directions and tempo, but somehow as it seems always in progress.... Elephant talk

Trevligt att träffas!

Yes, my blog title is in Swedish, but I was born in the U.S. My mom's family is from somewhere in Västmanland, but I've only ever been to Stockholm. My Swedish is terrible--I should really start studying again!
