I'd like to add two widgets to the front page of our community site. One would be a progress bar showing member contributions towards our goal. The second would be a track lane showing our 20 government agencies and who is leading in contributions...

I like that you can search for custom maps here, that's the major weakness of the custom google maps - people aren't likely to find them. I was given an assignment in my reference class to find the closest federal depository library to my house, and was really frustrated with the official sources, I just copied & pasted the addresses into google maps to make this (after I ripped off the logo... )

The great thing is that once it's been created, other libraries can use it too... like this site from Loyola University in Chicago. We haven't added it to our library's website yet, but it'll be up there sometime in the future. For now, our gov docs librarian (who has a blog here) has forwarded it to the other gov docs people to use. :)

I'm currently babysitting a batch load into ArchivalWare for our newspaper project. I'm on Day 3 of loading, indexing, loading, & indexing. Then I need to find the two dozen clippings of more than 90,000 from this load that didn't get linked to the full page images. Happy-happy joy-joy!

I work pretty closely with the government docs librarian here at UCLA and along with other reference librarians we are working on a data services plan for the university and we're planning to design a data/stats wiki. I am the OR for ICPSR and I go to the IASSIST conferences. I have gotten going with library 2.0 things - I am alomost ready to release an updated web site with online chat using Meebo - it was way easier than I thought it would be. Anyway, thanks for adding me and hope you will stay in touch.
