See my RSS feed for my blog in the left hand side bar. I would like to be able to rearrange these boxes on my page to move it up. Does anyone know how to do that?

Hi Rhonda,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

Hi Rhonda. I shopuld point out that I really opted for a more general overview of the Conference. I'm hoping the Ubergeeks make their thoughts known! We're 'evaluating' the possibility of a move to Symphony at the moment. I'm quite keen to establish an information flow amongst other Horizon +7.3 users who are in the same situation. The big 'sell' is SaaS..and I have to say given the amount of upgrades which they're looking to implement on Symphony and Enterprise over the next 12-18months, it's not without it's benefits..unless you have the infrastructure in place already of course.

More inane babblings to follow on the Blog!

Cheers,
G

I've passed on the call for presentations. That's going to be a busy time around here, but I'd love to come back and see my friends. Plus the Summit was always a good way to learn more about what folks are doing.

Well we're having a real Fall, gradually getting cooler before winter actually sets in . It might even take a month instead of days. First time I've seen that in 7 years.

Things are different, much bigger, more paperwork. Everyone here is great. However, the house still hasn't sold, so we're still a divided family -- no fun.

Will miss seeing everyone at CAL.
Keep in touch.

Hi Rhonda, would you like to participate in the Library 2.0 Member survey I created for my Research Methods class?! It's not very long, and is mostly demographic and interest information. If you do, I would appreciate any comments you have about how I could improve it. Thanks, Julie

I guess the biggest challenge is the lack of will from the Danish Library Agency to power up the development of useful new technologies such as relevance based search or a real social opac. We have a national all-containing catalog (called bibliotek.dk) but it's technology and interface is really old school - very sad when we have all the data in one place. Some work is done on the site, but there's a lack of strategy and in my oppinion lack of talented interface designers and people with insight into the newest technology.

Another thing I miss is the lack of initiative on important projects such as digitizing all Danish books. The copyright law actually permits us to do that in a fashion like Google Books - but the Danish Library Agency simply doesn't prioritize it.

So even though we may have a library system in Denmark being in the top 5 of world's best library systems, there's really still room for improvement.

How are you doing in Colorado? It could be cool to meet up in London - nice place :-)

Yeah, this is my avatar in the new, but not yet so popular, internet virtual world know as 'Grumpy, balding, Edwardian gentlemen who-eat-and-drink-too-much lifescape'. No, not really. I had a picture up of myself sitting on a wicker chair in Sri Lanka on the first day I joined Lib 2.0 but I removed it because I thought it looked too smug. I chose the current picture because there was a documentary I saw the night before on the eating habits of the posh in England around the turn of the last century. Those guys had astonishing diets!
