We are glad to inform you that 2nd International Symposium on “Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries and Information Services” will be organized at ‘Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknghat, Distt-Solan (Himachal Pradesh) from 3-5 June, 2010 jointly with Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida and in association with Mahatma Gandhi Central Library, IIT Roorki, Central Library, Delhi Technological University, Delhi, Society for Advancement of Library and Information Services, DELHI-NCR (SALIS, Delhi-NCR) and Special Library Association, Asian Chapter (SLA).


JUIT was established in 2002 in State of Himachal Pradesh under HP State Legislative Act No 14 of 2002 and Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan, Delhi is dedicated to high quality education to cater the need of the society in the engineering disciplines for B Tech, M Tech, and PhD programs, having conducive academic environment, interaction with industry, renowned academicians and professors, exposure to international educational institutions with lush green campus on the hills of Solan, near Shimla (Himachal Pradesh).

The Theme of the International Symposium ‘Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries and Information Services’ the second of its series, previously held in JIIT- Noida in December 2008, is now being organized at JUIT campus between 3-5 June, 2010. The theme is quite relevant to the need of current information society where the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has changed the face of traditional library by ever changing interest of the users. The symposium will provide a platform for librarians, information professionals, IT intellectuals to share their ideas in the field of recent activities and applications in Library and Information Services by eminent speakers from International arena and Indian subcontinent in the form of research papers, key note address, poster presentations, and panel discussions.
