What is Your Interest in Library 2.0 (not yes or no)
I am currently taking a Research Methods class this semester. I am in the process of planning a research project about E-Government/and or Web 2.0. In exploring http://freegovinfo.info/ I discovered this site. This is exciting to me; I can't wait to explore it and find out what's happening! Perhaps it would be possible to submit a monkeysurvey to this group to find out government document librarians' attitudes (or other) about E-Government and/or Open Source sites. I'll keep you posted. I am also presently working on creating a new Government Documents website for USF and would like to include open source information.

Government Documents Community

Wouldn't it be great to have this site be an actual community of Government Document librarians, etc., who can intelligently and actively engage in a balanced conversation about what is happening with Government Documents: the transition to digital conversion; the conservation of print materials which are important primary sources in our history; the promotion of these sources to the public, etc. And what I have found to be particularly astounding is the ignorance of managenment to take full adv… Continue

Hi Julie,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

How are you? Was thinking of you whenever I saw Barney Frank on the news. Hahaha. I have to send you those photos I took of him. Are you going to the Depository Library Conference?

Hi Julie! Congratulations for your graduation! I am still in library school, I think I will graduate in May of 09. This semester has been wild, I took database design-the class is difficult but interesting. I still am interested in Government Docs librarianship. The university has one class concentrating on governemnt docs so I am unsure if that will be enough to break into that area. This fall, I will do my practicum.
Keep in touch and let me know how the job hunting is going!

Hi Julie!
I explored your Government Documents page and it is really great! Especially nice is the link to Google US Government Search and the Frequently used sites. Great design, very easy to navigate.
