About Me:: I am the husband of a beautiful, brilliant woman and the father of a beautiful, brilliant girl. I'm a Web Content Developer at the Johnson County Library (in Johnson County, Kansas, part of the Kansas City Metro Area). I also like to read (mostly fiction), listen to music, play games (story games, board games, card games), cook, and play with computers.

What is Your Interest in Library 2.0 (not yes or no): I love libraries. I love the Enlightenment values of providing free information to everyone for the purposes of education and entertainment. I also love how information-communication technologies are changing the way people connect with and access information and other people. I want to see libraries at the vanguard of technology and society. Also, all of this stuff is just darned fun, and I like to approach libraries and technology with a strong sense of play and imagination. Because...why the heck not?

A discussion (or was it a couple of different discussions?) on Twitter regarding ALA fees and navigating the ALA website led me to declare why I haven’t renewed my ALA membership. For one thing, ALA’s website,
