- I'm a new-er, young-er middle-manager at a small public library in Chicago's Near West suburbs. I've been the Head of Reference and Electronic Services since November 2005 and received my MLS through UIUC's LEEP program in August of that year.
- What is Your Interest in Library 2.0 (not yes or no)
- I'm working with some colleagues on a presentation for the upcoming Illinois Library Association Conference. Our theme is "Library Management 2.0." We're discussing techniques middle-managers in particular can use to create a culture where L2 can thrive. I'm proposing a model of the library manager-as-teacher, one who encourages, inspires, and educates staff to become innovative and make change. I'd love to start a conversation here about this model, and appreciate everyone's feedback.

ILA presentation on Managing Library 2.0
Our presentation at the Illinois Library Association conference in Springfield on Wednesday went really well. I was happy to talk with library managers, new and experienced, from around the state. We're all doing such interesting things to make 2.0 happen at our institutions. I'd like to share our powerpoint presentations with the group here. I welcome comments and feedback.
