Being a reference librarian, I sit at a desk staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day. I come home, sit down on my couch and surf the web for another 2 hours. 10 hours a day of staring into the eyes of a computer. And I still don't have time to do all of the things online that I want, or to learn all of the technologies that I'm interested in.

So how do you guys do… Continue

Hi MC,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

Hi MC. So have you successfully "won over" any resistant co-workers? I've recently won over my wife with flickr. She makes cards and I showed her how to download pics onto flickr. I also bought her a mp3 player and showed her how to download audio books from our website. It's a gradual process

I'll be at the ad hoc web meeting, Literary Reference Center training, and the reference meeting. And I think I'll be at NELA the whole time - it'll be a busy couple months.

And yes, fall is my favorite time of year, so I'm pretty happy it's about here. See you soon.

Hey - I'm sorry I've been so out of touch lately. Will I see you at some meetings this month? I hope all is well. Take care.

Head of Reference? Congratulations. You've only been there like two months and already you got promoted. That's great, and I hope you're enjoying it; I'm behind as usual.

Yeah, things have been busy here, too. Too many kids in the summer reading program, and not enough books. I hope you're getting out and enjoying being next to the ocean in the summer - I like your new picture. I'm planning to go to Plum Island one weekend soon, so I'll let you know when that happens; maybe I can get a tour of MNE?

My library is in Vancouver, which is in the southwest corner of the state, across the river from Portland, OR.

Thanks for checking out my forum topic. I was just looking for a book about Massachusetts last night. Of course, it was in relation to Salem and witches.

I've got a blog or three where I'm working on ideas of how to incorporate 2.0 into library services, and i'd love to get your input/suggestions/questions.
