Even though you commented on my photo back in November, I still wanted to comment you back, so, here I am doing it!

Thank you for the compliment and enjoying my profile pic, I thought it was very funny myself!

Hi Morgan, What fun to have an author who went to college when I did :-). Be sure to check out Jamie Langston Turner's books. She is a friend from college who also has 5 or so books published.

I'd be happy to read your imaginative script, I would like to find someone who can get access to librarians. I would give 50 cents per cd order to that person

Thanks for the invite. My SIL lives in Chicagoland. I didn't realize that people besides my husband really called it that! Though they're from corn/soy country in the middle of the state originally...

Hi Morgan,
I'm completely new at this - social networking has only very recently entered my vocab. I guess we elementary school librarians don't get out much... Thank you for the invite. I suppose my world is sort of the inverse of yours - I am employed as a librarian and work on the side as a writer. I've been working on a middle grade children's novel for the past three years. Prior to my life as a librarian, I was a journalist.

Profile Information

Name of Your Library:
Arlington Heights Memorial Library
About Me:
Libraries have been my second home for a number of years. The one in Arlington Heights is outstanding.

My love of reading inspired me to write. I presently have two published books. One is a mystery, Two Wrongs, set in Chicago, a tale of vengeance and the healing power of love. The other is a romantic comedy and Cinderella story, Girl of My Dreams, about a reality show contestant who may win the millionaire, but is money enough to maker her love him?

Both available at www.hardshell.com, www.amazon.com, by order at bookstores, and hopefully will be picked up at some libaries as well besides my own.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from DePaul University, where I met my husband. I'm a past president of Chicago North Romance Writers of America, am the Library Liaison for Midwest Mystery Writers of America, belong to EPIC and Sisters in Crime. At one time I also freelanced for the Daily Herald.

Visiting the Library is Different Than Before

When I was young, my Dad would take us all to the library. We'd scrummage through the books until we found some that we liked and we'd get a whole pile of them to check out on Summer Loan. My favorite was Cinderella, which I always managed to find, although not alwasy the same version. There were little cards the librarians wrote on and put in the pockets of the books. You better not lose them or else!

Now, I can order my books over the computer, reserve what I want or ask for it to be
