The deep Web, as it is called, holds bounties of treasures.
I am mainly interested in Web-based databases that are not covered by search engines such as Google. I have posted a number of them to this Web page:
Deep Web http://libwww.cabrillo.edu/about/AdvIntSearching/DeepWebDatabases.html
There are also digital libraries, some of which I have linked to this Web page:
http://libwww.cabrillo.edu/about/AdvIntSearching/DigitalLibraries.html
Tiny URL for that: http://tinyurl.com/2chjrl
So, I'm not talking about the proprietary Web, subscription databases, or places not covered by search engines because they provide dynamically generated information.
I am interested in how one could provide access to these kinds of databases. Federated searching? Or, roll your own search engine using http://www.rollyo.com/ or Google's CSE (Customized Search Engine)?
