According to USA Today the US congress is considering a bill that would bar children who use computers in public libraries from accessing Facebook and other social networking websites without parental permission.
ALA says this bill is another attempt by the federal government to interfere with library users' privacy and free speech,

I guess it's one of those things that just can happen in the US... This will not keep the kids from social netwoks, it's possible that it will keep kids out of the libraries instead!
That's pretty scary, especially considering how much valid info is on those sites. It's always people who don't use these tools (and therefore have zero understanding of them) that try to moderate access.
