Carnival of the Infosciences # 74

I stayed up until 2 AM finishing up the latest COTI - #74. I hosted this week since there were no volunteers. Please consider participating in the Carnival as a way to point to blog posts that you have enjoyed and benefitted from, or even just to drive up some traffic and exposure to your own blog.

If you have missed any of the hooplah about M. Gorman's newest diatr…

Carnival of the Infosciences # 70

Save the Carnival of the Infosciences Well, here we are again ladies and gents, all dressed up and no one to host. It seems that this is the busiest time of the year for everyone in the biblioverse, myself included, but I thought it would be a nice time to host one myself and highlight the best posts and content coming out o…

Live Blog Notes from Ball State University Copyright Conference 2007

Speakers I think that after attending this conference three times that I am starting to get a better feel for Fair Use Analysis.

Not that you couldn't do that after going to just one, but there are so many questions to ask that it takes some time to get a handle on where to start.

That is the great thing about this conference. It gives you the inform…

Making Library ringtones

I found a cool site where you can mix your own ringtones and make cell phone backgrounds. Myxer costs nothing to mix and upload. Standard download rates from your mobile service provider apply.

I used excerpts from a Monty Python skit and the 1946 Librarian training film for these two that our library will be offering for national Library week. Feel free to share and use.

You can download them here.

Now taking submissions for Carnival #69

Yet again the carnival travels abroad - this time to The Land of the Long White Cloud, better known as New Zealand. Come on folks - this is an EXCELLENT carnival edition to get included in. I think we can make it a Platinum Collectors Edition. The nice folks writing at Library COGs are now taking submissions.
Act now - su…

lol, actually, I have no organizational system for keeping up with things other than my feeble brain. I just started using Outlook's calendar at work this week and I think I'm going to at the very least start making lists and setting deadlines at home because, yes, it is starting to get to be too much.

Sometimes I think about all that GTD stuff, which sounds very cool, but I'd probably spend more time setting it up than I would save with the system. I don't need any more excuses for going to office supply stores... it's like porn for geeks!
