I'm a teacher librarian in a secondary school (Years 7-12) where the middle school (Yrs 7-9) is boys-only and the Senior School (Yrs 10-12) is co-ed. I am a coordinator of the Boys and Books program that runs in the Middle School. This involves me reading aloud to the boys, engaging in discussions with the boys about reading and, of course, some time for the boys to read whatever they like (print books, graphic novels, magazines). The boys just love it! I spend the remainder of my time trying to keep my head above the rising tide of Web2.0 developments. Sometimes I wonder if drowning is imminent!
I haven't a library of "my own" anymore as I work as a library consultant, but both public libraries and most school libraries in my area have graphic novels and they are immensely popular, among both boys and girls.
Ning is a good learning place but it is confusing when you get into different networks. Having a personal page for each, rather than one personal page is difficult. Hmmm.
Yes di, I agree with the time problem! I am also beginning to realise that I belong to too many Ning networks - and that we really should be using ning in a more focussed way. Library 2.0 at Ning is not going to replace reading all the blogs that I find relevant - in fact it is too hard. But it is a great place for a focussed group, project, or smaller network than 'the world', which Library 2.0 is. I'm thinking and thinking and trying to decide what to do next. :-)

You look familiar to me. You didn't happen to be at the IASL Conference in Lisboa last summer?
If you ever go to Sweden, let me know!
