I specialize in interactive technology (web 2.0), social media, digital archives, multimedia archiving and humanities and social science resources.
My passion is technology and information, and especially the intersection of the two. I am most interested in making sense of the vast amount of technology and information out there, and finding ways to connect people with all that is available to them. I'm also fascinated by the nature of communication, language and the human mind, and spend way too much time thinking and analyzing things for my own good.
Hi Val, would you like to participate in the Library 2.0 Member survey I created for my Research Methods class?! It's not very long, and is mostly demographic and interest information. If you do, I would appreciate any comments you have about how I could improve it. Thanks, Julie Click Here to take survey
we set up a couple of blogs, one in particular has been successful in reaching history students who had lots of complaints about book availability. Also trying out a wiki to communicate between the liaison librarians and share best practice but that is taking time to get going. also looking at social bookmarking tools for students to create their own group bibliographies. Like you, difficult to promote when not totally sure of the potential outcomes. We should keep in touch over progress.

Welcome to the network I used to live in Hoboken (1988-1992) and miss the Stevens campus a lot (especially on the 4th of July, when you can watch the NYC fireworks on the other side of Manhattan).
As a fellow wannabe geek, I'm sure you'll want to know about Library Camp NYC, which a few of us (Steve Kaye, Rachel Watstein) are organizing. It will be sponsored by my college, Baruch, and held on August 14, 2007. Details on the Library Camp NYC wiki: http://librarycampnyc.wikispaces.com/
