About Me:
I am a graduated graphic designer, ex-Australian Customs officer, practicing artist, and I used to make a mean latte at Gloria Jeans. But deep inside, I have always been a librarian.

I am just starting out in my library career and I enjoy cataloguing, I get excited when I find a great resource for someone, and I feel my life is complete helping others.
Interest in Library 2.0
To learn, network, and apply knowledge.

Long time...

So... it has been a long time since I last made an appearance here. In that time, I have had my contract at the State Library extended (till the end of the year), started the stocktake project in our repository (hard, repetitive work), started working on the Heritage Collections reference desk, had a birthday and turned 29!, and most recently, had my haircut.

- framed photograph of Premier Peter Beattie meeting the Pope Benedict XVI

After Day 2.

I have finished Day 2 of my new job at the State Library of Queensland and it has been pretty great so far. I am working in the Heritage Collection, Original Materials. The project I have been working on consists of updating catalogue records, creating new records, and sorting materials. It is slow going but I have been learning lots. The materials I have been working with are unpublished items of specific value to Queensland society and culture, including ephemera, records, and photographs.

Wow - congratulations. I know that's pretty large library that has some major collections. What will you be doing?

The Dean of my library is from Australia - she came a year ago to Saskatoon and we had the most snow in many years! Lucky her.
